If you're like most adults, your parents probably loaded you up with vitamin C whenever you had the sniffles or a cold. Your younger self might not have believed it worked, but as it turns out, your parents were onto something. According to doctors, vitamin C is one of the most important vitamins to consume. It might not be the cure-all for the common cold, but it absolutely helps maintain your immune system so you can fight the cold quicker. Also known as ascorbic acid, vitamin C also protects your body from prenatal health issues, cardiovascular problems, eye diseases, and even wrinkly skin.

When your body lacks vitamin C for a long time, you're sure to notice. Though vitamin C deficiency is relatively rare in the U.S., adults who go long periods without it may get sick frequently and suffer from other immune system issues. In extreme cases, people may get scurvy, which causes a litany of issues like joint pain, bleeding gums, and depression.

B vitamins like riboflavin (B2), niacin (B3), folic acid (b9), and cobalamin (B12) play a crucial role in keeping you healthy and maintaining your overall wellbeing. If you want a healthier body, B vitamins are critical, as they are literally building blocks that help preserve your brain functionality, cell metabolism, and energy. For pregnant women, B vitamins in IV drips are especially important because they help your new baby's brain develop while in the womb. B vitamins have also been shown to prevent congenital disabilities. Plus, they help ease feelings of nausea, which is a big bonus for moms and dads alike.

When your body is vitamin B deficient, you're putting yourself at risk of many health problems, such as complications with pregnancy, nervous system disorders, amenia, and gastric cancers.

Like the other vitamins and nutrients on this page, magnesium plays an important part in your body's total health. As a cofactor or helper molecule, magnesium has a role in 600+ bodily functions, including protein formation, nerve function, gene function, muscle movement, and energy production. If you're having a stressful day or week, high-potency magnesium has been shown to have relaxation properties that help calm your nerves and muscles. Unfortunately, most Americans don't get enough magnesium in their diets.

When your body is magnesium deficient, you could be playing with fire. Magnesium deficiency has been linked to chronic health concerns like osteoporosis, diabetes, and even heart disease. If you're feeling unusually weak or suffering from irregular muscle cramps, a vitamin IV session from Juventee could be the solution you need.

Just about every health food and drink in the stores boasts high levels of antioxidants. That's great, but what are they? Antioxidants are substances shown to slow or prevent cell damage from free radicals. Free radicals are unstable molecules linked to inflammation, disease, and forms of cancer. According to the National Library of Medicine, antioxidants also act as hydrogen and electron donors, as well as enzyme inhibitors.

Most humans get some types of antioxidants naturally through eating and drinking. However, IV vitamin therapy is a much more effective way to fight back against free radicals with antioxidants. When your body lacks antioxidants, free radical production increases, which causes oxidative stress - a harmful situation linked to arthritis, cancers, strokes, and Parkinson's disease.

Antioxidants

Thankfully, Juventee's IV vitamin therapy in West New York, NJ contains antioxidants that may scavenge and reduce the free radicals affecting your health.

Some additional vitamins and nutrients found in most IV vitamin therapies include:

  • Calcium
  • Amino Acids
  • Threonine
  • Arginine
  • Tryptophan
  • Vitamin E
  • Vitamin D
  • More

The Station in West New York. - AIRN Management LLC

The Station, a new luxury apartment building in the heart of West New York, has quickly proven to be a standout performer in Hudson County’s red-hot rental market.

Developer AIRN Management LLC and RHO Residential, exclusive marketing and leasing agent for the striking 10-story building, announced that over 80% of the Station’s 97 residences has been leased just three short months after opening — a testament to the property’s widespread appeal in one of the country’s most competitive rental markets.

Situated at 4901 Bergenline Ave., the Station offers a boutique collection of one- and two-bedroom homes within a lively business and retail corridor and near convenient mass transportation into Manhattan. Directly across the street from the building is the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail, which makes the Hudson River waterfront and exciting neighborhoods in Hoboken and Jersey City easily accessible.

Available homes at the Station include oversized two-bedroom layouts priced from $3,400 and offered with limited time incentives of one month free on a 13- to 15-month lease. Immediate occupancy is available.

“When introducing the Station, we were confident the building had all the ingredients needed to attract renters within Hudson County’s surging apartment market,” Brenda Cioce, president of RHO Residential, said. “With expansive and highly functional floorplans, a complete package of modern amenities and a commuter friendly location right outside New York City, the building quickly resonated with residents looking for a brand-new home and a dynamic lifestyle minutes from Manhattan. Add in an attractive price structure that provides exceptional value, and it’s no surprise we’ve been able to achieve incredible leasing velocity in such a short time.”

With architecture by Jose Carballo Architecture Group, a Michael Graves company, thoughtfully-designed residences at the Station feature kitchens with quartz countertops with mosaic backsplashes, custom two-tone cabinetry and stainless-steel appliances. Luxury bathrooms are adorned with porcelain tile flooring. Homes offer panoramic views of the surrounding urban landscape. Each residence also includes an in-home washer and dryer.

A full suite of recreational and social amenities designed to enhance resident life includes a fully-furnished resident lounge with coworking space, state-of-the-art fitness center and an expansive rooftop with New York City skyline views. Services include private controlled access, a package receiving area and on-site maintenance team.

Street-level retail space at the Station will soon be home to a fresh grocer that is sure to become a highly-popular community destination for premium produce, baked goods and custom-cut meats.

“The Station is blocks from New Jersey Transit buses and minutes to New York Waterway ferries, which whisk residents to the diverse offering of entertainment, restaurants and nightlife of New York City,” Cioce added.

NEW YORK (PIX11) – New York City public schools will be fully remote Tuesday as the city prepares for a storm that could bring between five to eight inches of snow, Mayor Eric Adams announced Monday.

The mayor will be holding a press conference at noon to announce the city’s perpetrations for the winter weather.

All after-school programs, adult education and Young Adult Borough Centers programs were also canceled for Tuesday, officials said. The central Public Schools department office would remain open.

The storm was expected to pick up speed around 4 a.m. Tuesday, dropping snow across the city through Tuesday evening, National Weather Service officials said. Temps were expected to reach a high of 49 degrees Monday and drop below 40 on Tuesday and Wednesday.

City officials issued a travel advisory for Monday night into Tuesday expecting low visibility during New Yorkers’ morning commutes.

“I urge New Yorkers to stay off the roads unless absolutely necessary for their safety,” said New York City Emergency Management Commissioner Zach Iscol.

The first of two snowmakers is winding down in the eastern U.S. as it moves out into the Canadian Maritimes, but the next one is already cranking up, promising another blanket of snow across several states Friday.

"Parts of the Northeast will be touched, but this is a more southerly track and areas like New Jersey and Maryland, which got a dusting with our nor'easter, will actually be the bigger accumulating spots with this snow opportunity," FOX Weather Meteorologist Britta Merwin said.

The second quick-moving system will scurry across the Midwest on Friday and then push into the Ohio Valley and mid-Atlantic Friday night, potentially creating risky travel problems that may occur during late-night travel in Washington, D.C., Baltimore and Philadelphia, the FOX Forecast Center said.

It was a rough Friday morning commute in Watertown and Utica, New York, due to snow and wind gusts as high as 50 mph. The Great Lakes, nearly completely ice-free, will experience winds that will keep lake-effect snow showers in place downwind of Lake Erie and Ontario, the FOX Forecast Center said.

Quick-hitting storm dropping snow across New York

The first of the two snowmakers FOX Weather has been tracking this week is quickly moving out into the Canadian Maritimes after producing snow across the Northeast overnight.

Meanwhile, to the west, cities such as St. Louis and Indianapolis, this will be the first flakes they've seen in a month, the FOX Forecast Center said.

The fast storm movement and light-to-moderate snow rates will keep accumulations modest. Generally, 1-3 inches are expected, with a few spots perhaps getting in the 4- to 5-inch range, should a band of heavier snow develop.

"Winter Weather Advisories are up, and this does include some big Midwest cities for travel," Merwin said. "You got to be careful with driving, but also with flights. Indianapolis, Cincinnati, Louisville – these will all be airports where we could see some minor hiccups because of the snow moving through."

Accumulating snow hits the mid-Atlantic Friday night

By Friday night, the storm will re-strengthen as it moves across the Central Appalachians and reaches the mid-Atlantic states.

The mountains of Virginia, West Virginia and Pennsylvania have the best chance of seeing 5-plus inches of snow.

Washington, D.C., Baltimore, Philadelphia and Dover, Delaware, are forecast to receive 1-4 inches of snow, the FOX Forecast Center said. A small amount of snow accumulating may extend as far north as New York City.

(FOX Weather)

Most of the snow will fall overnight Friday in six hours or less. During that time, there is a chance a narrow area of heavy snow may organize and produce snow at the rate of 1-2 inches per hour.

Should this occur, the FOX Forecast Center said it will most likely be near northern Virginia to Maryland. This includes cities like Washington, D.C. and Baltimore.

The snow will largely be over when the sun rises on Saturday. Scattered lake-enhanced snow showers will replace it, and perhaps some snow squalls will continue across the interior Northeast into the evening hours.

Acting New Jersey Comptroller Kevin Walsh today outlined why nine municipalities are not in compliance with the 2010 sick leave law, including the Town of West New York.

By John Heinis/Hudson County View

“Two of West New York’s union contracts are phrased so as to limit payment for accrued sick leave to the statutory maximum. Another union contract allows payment of up to $18,000 for any accrued sick leave at resignation, death, or retirement,” the New Jersey Office of the State Comptroller released publicly today.

“OSC found that the terms of one of West New York’s union contracts do not comply with the 2010 law with regard to payment of accrued sick leave by allowing payment at a time other than at retirement and more than $15,000 for employees hired after May 21, 2010.”

By state law, all employees hired after May 2010 cannot receive more than $15,000 for unused sick leave. Employees can only receive that $15,000 at retirement – not when they resign, change jobs, or as an annual payout.

In July 2022, Walsh released a report that surveyed 60 municipalities and their sick leave practices, and a whopping 57 were out of compliance with state law, including Hoboken, Union City, and West New York.

In a follow up report released last week, the OSC revealed that nine municipalities, with West New York being the only one in Hudson County, still not in compliance. At the time, they did not disclose any particulars, but that ended up happening today.

The OSC indicates that West New York was made aware of their findings on July 26th, 2022 and detailed the requirements for a corrective action plan (CAP) which came with a September 30th deadline.

The town was allegedly told on October 7th that their CAP was overdue and gave them a courtesy of an additional two weeks, October 21st. On October 18th, West New York provided the OSC with a copy of their employee manual.

“Because West New York had responded to a draft of OSC’s original report outlining certain changes it intended to make, OSC considered that to be West New York’s CAP,” the OSC wrote.

“OSC’s response on April 27, 2023 noted that West New York’s CAP did not address whether it had conducted or planned to conduct an independent fiscal assessment to identify possible improper payments. OSC also noted that the CAP needed to be approved by the governing body. OSC requested an updated CAP to address these concerns by May 26, 2023. To date, West New York has not responded to the April correspondence.”

West New York was also one of seven municipalities identified as missing an independent fiscal assessment.

In last week’s follow up report, Walsh included a letter to state leaders where he recommended withholding state funding for municipalities that do not adopt the CAP within 30 days.

A West New York spokesman did not respond to an inquiry seeking comment.
