If you're like most adults, your parents probably loaded you up with vitamin C whenever you had the sniffles or a cold. Your younger self might not have believed it worked, but as it turns out, your parents were onto something. According to doctors, vitamin C is one of the most important vitamins to consume. It might not be the cure-all for the common cold, but it absolutely helps maintain your immune system so you can fight the cold quicker. Also known as ascorbic acid, vitamin C also protects your body from prenatal health issues, cardiovascular problems, eye diseases, and even wrinkly skin.

When your body lacks vitamin C for a long time, you're sure to notice. Though vitamin C deficiency is relatively rare in the U.S., adults who go long periods without it may get sick frequently and suffer from other immune system issues. In extreme cases, people may get scurvy, which causes a litany of issues like joint pain, bleeding gums, and depression.

B vitamins like riboflavin (B2), niacin (B3), folic acid (b9), and cobalamin (B12) play a crucial role in keeping you healthy and maintaining your overall wellbeing. If you want a healthier body, B vitamins are critical, as they are literally building blocks that help preserve your brain functionality, cell metabolism, and energy. For pregnant women, B vitamins in IV drips are especially important because they help your new baby's brain develop while in the womb. B vitamins have also been shown to prevent congenital disabilities. Plus, they help ease feelings of nausea, which is a big bonus for moms and dads alike.

When your body is vitamin B deficient, you're putting yourself at risk of many health problems, such as complications with pregnancy, nervous system disorders, amenia, and gastric cancers.

Like the other vitamins and nutrients on this page, magnesium plays an important part in your body's total health. As a cofactor or helper molecule, magnesium has a role in 600+ bodily functions, including protein formation, nerve function, gene function, muscle movement, and energy production. If you're having a stressful day or week, high-potency magnesium has been shown to have relaxation properties that help calm your nerves and muscles. Unfortunately, most Americans don't get enough magnesium in their diets.

When your body is magnesium deficient, you could be playing with fire. Magnesium deficiency has been linked to chronic health concerns like osteoporosis, diabetes, and even heart disease. If you're feeling unusually weak or suffering from irregular muscle cramps, a vitamin IV session from Juventee could be the solution you need.

Just about every health food and drink in the stores boasts high levels of antioxidants. That's great, but what are they? Antioxidants are substances shown to slow or prevent cell damage from free radicals. Free radicals are unstable molecules linked to inflammation, disease, and forms of cancer. According to the National Library of Medicine, antioxidants also act as hydrogen and electron donors, as well as enzyme inhibitors.

Most humans get some types of antioxidants naturally through eating and drinking. However, IV vitamin therapy is a much more effective way to fight back against free radicals with antioxidants. When your body lacks antioxidants, free radical production increases, which causes oxidative stress - a harmful situation linked to arthritis, cancers, strokes, and Parkinson's disease.

Antioxidants

Thankfully, Juventee's IV vitamin therapy in West New York, NJ contains antioxidants that may scavenge and reduce the free radicals affecting your health.

WEST NEW YORK, New Jersey (WABC) -- Ten firefighters were injured and more than a dozen residents were displaced after a fire tore through an apartment in West New York, New Jersey Thursday night.

Citizen App video showed fierce flames billowing from the building located on Bergenline Avenue at 53rd Street. The fire was in an apartment above a pharmacy.

It wasn't the kind of Thanksgiving West New York residents hoped for. Their apartments were blackened and charred after being ravaged by the flames.

"We were about to cut the turkey literally and then this happened," neighbor Peter Reynoso said. "It's pretty sad our Thanksgiving got ruined. Our pets, we can't find one of them. It's a horrible night."

Neighbors had to get out with their cats, immediately, when the building two doors down on Bergenline Avenue collapsed.

"They were sitting by the window, and they got like knocked down and everything shook inside the apartment, it was really loud," Reynoso said.

North Hudson fire officials say an explosion caused the roof to come crumbling down with firefighters on top of it.

Ten firefighters were injured, including two seriously. One still remains hospitalized Friday with non-life-threatening injuries.

"I got a call that we had three members missing we had a mayday and your heart just drops," West New York Fire Chief David Donnarumma said.

Donnarumma says the explosion happened as firefighters were battling flames shooting out the window of the three-story corner building. The blast turned the building next to it into rubble.

"It's a sad day for the township of West New York they with their residents, cause people are displaced, they lost their residences and lost their belongings," he said. "It's a difficult day for the firefighters, not because we had to work but because of the injuries. Now their families will be suffering as well."

Luckily, firefighters were able to get everyone out, rescuing several residents. Others were able to self evacuate.

The fire has been placed under control, but the damage has already been done.

Twenty people have been displaced. The Red Cross says they are assisting at least 10 families.

"On a holiday they're crying," witness Christian Moranchel said. "Their families trying to console them, hugging them. Just feel bad for them."

The cause of the fire and explosion are under investigation but foul play is not suspected.

People like to brag about where they're from, but residents of one New Jersey borough may be able to get the last word in the tri-state, according to recent rankings.

Personal finance website WalletHub gave Fair Lawn one of the best scores in the U.S. in its rankings of best small cities in America. The Bergen County city was ranked sixth in the country, with high marks in education and health (17th) and safety (18th).

While it still ranked toward the front of the pack in affordability (143rd) and economic health (241st), according to WalletHub, it struggled in quality of life, being rated just 883rd overall in that category (out of 1,300 cities rated in the study).

But Fair Lawn doesn't get all the bragging rights. Saratoga Springs, a popular tourism spot just north of Albany, also scored in the 99th percentile, with a score just below Fair Lawn, at 69.11, good for 9th overall. Four other small cities — all in New Jersey — also landed in the top 5% of small cities, including Princeton, Ridgewood, Paramus and Hoboken.

Also, the Long Island town of Commack has the lowest share of its population living in poverty, just 1.8%, according to WalletHub. Westfield, New Jersey, was just behind it.

The top-ranked small city for Connecticut, the study found, was New Haven County's Shelton, followed by the coastal cities of Stratford and Norwalk.

So what was the top city overall? That honor goes to Carmel, Indiana, which was rated one of the safest small cities in the country (4th), along with top 50 ranks in affordability (31st) and education and health (50th). It was one of three Indiana cities to make the top five, along with neighboring Westfield (4th overall) and Fishers (5th overall), WalletHub found. Lexington, Massachusetts, and Brentwood, Tennessee, also were rated as the best of the best.

Here are the tri-state small cities among the top cities, being rated in the 90th percentile or above, according to WalletHub's study (the percentile is in parentheses):

On the other end of the scale, New Jersey was also home to a city that had among the worst scores in the country, as Camden was put into just the 1st percentile of scores (it had the eighth-worst score of all cities ranked). Camden had a score of just 42.34, just a few points above the city with the lowest score — which was Bessemer, Alabama, given a score of 37.02, the study found.

New Jersey was actually home to five cities that finished among the lowest in the country, with Millville, Atlantic City, Vineland and Trenton all finishing in the lowest tier. Rockland County's Spring Valley was also rated low on the list.

Other notables on the list: New Jersey's Lakewood had the fourth-highest housing costs, while New Brunswick had the fourth-lowest homeownership rate; Stratford, Connecticut, had the fourth-worst income growth; Hoboken was tied for fourth-highest amount of hours worked each week.

News 12 has obtained exclusive video showing the moments a West New York apartment building collapsed during a raging fire on Thanksgiving Day. The building is located on 53rd Street and Bergenline Avenue.

While construction crews are working to recover the building, the North Hudson Fire chief says first responders are working to recover physically and mentally. Eight firefighters were hurt and 19 people were left homeless.

“I’ve been on the job for over 30 years. I haven’t been at a fire where there was a smoke explosion or a backdraft. This fire had both,” North Hudson Fire & Rescue Chief David Donnarumma said.

Crews used their entire apparatus and all manpower to respond to the three-alarm fire that evening.

“First it flew people into the air on the roof, people in the building were thrown into walls, people were thrown down staircases, so we got banged up, bruises all over,” Donnarumma said.

As flames erupted from the second floor, mayday messages were called as the roof collapsed, trapping three firefighters.

“The furniture within the apartment stopped the roof from collapsing all the way down so the firefighters weren’t propelled into the apartment. They stayed on the roof but in the crevice, so we were able to rescue them with other firefighters,” Donnarumma said.

Two people inside were rescued while firefighters were sent to the hospital for serious and minor injuries. Firefighter Lou Isip is seen in a video leaving the hospital surrounded by team members after being taken in for several broken ribs, a broken ankle and a fractured foot. Others are recovering from things like smoke inhalation, bruises, and sprains.

“We were fortunate that it was no civilians injured, no civilians lost, the pain to the fire department was something because of the injuries and the injuries fester at home as well because it’s difficult to the families on a holiday,” Donnarumma added.

The chief says an event like this can also cause psychological trauma that could take quite a while to recover from. The cause of the fire is still being investigated.

Canoe Brook Development has secured $150 million in construction financing to build RB3, a 426-unit luxury apartment tower in West New York, N.J., a town along the Hudson River in the New Jersey Palisades.

The RB3 apartment complex is part of the greater Port Imperial project, a two-mile, 200-acre, master-planned community under development in West New York.

Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company provided the five-year, fixed-rate loan, while a JLL Capital Markets team of Jon Mikula, Jim Candranell, Steven Klien, and Ryan Caroll arranged the financing.

“JLL was pleased to represent Canoe Brook in obtaining construction financing for this exceptional project on the New Jersey waterfront,” said Candranell in a statement. “Northwestern Mutual beat out a strong field of contenders with an attractive fixed-rate option.”

Located at 30 Avenue within the Port Imperial neighborhood, the 11-story RB3 will consist of studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments, all which will include luxury finishes and floor-to-ceiling windows. Amenities included within the building run the gamut from a five-room fitness center and a virtual reality room to a dog salon, child’s playroom, indoor pool, and pickle ball court. Coworking spaces, private work offices, and grilling areas will also be featured within the building upon completion.

Sitting alongside the Hudson River in the Palisades Valley area, RB3 is a short ferry ride from Manhattan, and will carry unencumbered views of the New York City skyline for its future residents. The site is only three-blocks from the NY Waterway Ferry, and is three months from the Lincoln Tunnel entrance and seven miles from the George Washington Bridge, providing easy access into Manhattan for commuters.

The project is part of the larger Port Imperial development, which first began in 1997 with the goal of turning former industrial land along the Hudson River that had fallen out of use into a master-planned community of apartments, hotels, retail and office space all interconnected to ferry, rail, and bus service into Manhattan.

Today Port Imperial contains 7,500 apartment units and townhomes, 150,000 square-feet of retail, two Marriott hotels, two parking garages, and public space devoted to parks, sports facilities, and a riverfront walkway. Canoe Brook Development, along with Roseland, Farallon, and PGIM have been integral to the development of Port Imperial over the last 26 years.

Construction on RB3 is scheduled to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2026.

The property, which will be the only rental building directly on the waterfront, is part of the 200-acre, master-planned community known as Port Imperial and will offer residents spectacular, unencumbered views of the midtown Manhattan skyline.

JLL worked on behalf of the borrower, Canoe Brook Development, to secure the five-year, fixed-rate loan through The Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company.

Situated at 30 Avenue at Port Imperial, RB3 is strategically located less than a three-block walk to the NY Waterway ferry, and a 0.4 mile walk to the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail Station, offering residents direct access to midtown and downtown Manhattan and the surrounding area. It will be immediately north of the Lincoln Tunnel entrance, three miles from downtown Hoboken and seven miles from the George Washington Bridge. In addition to RB3’S impressive regional accessibility, the property offers residents walkability and will sit on an eighteen-mile waterfront walkway, spanning from Fort Lee to Jersey City, with substantial retail and entertainment centers located along River Road.
