If you're like most adults, your parents probably loaded you up with vitamin C whenever you had the sniffles or a cold. Your younger self might not have believed it worked, but as it turns out, your parents were onto something. According to doctors, vitamin C is one of the most important vitamins to consume. It might not be the cure-all for the common cold, but it absolutely helps maintain your immune system so you can fight the cold quicker. Also known as ascorbic acid, vitamin C also protects your body from prenatal health issues, cardiovascular problems, eye diseases, and even wrinkly skin.

When your body lacks vitamin C for a long time, you're sure to notice. Though vitamin C deficiency is relatively rare in the U.S., adults who go long periods without it may get sick frequently and suffer from other immune system issues. In extreme cases, people may get scurvy, which causes a litany of issues like joint pain, bleeding gums, and depression.

B vitamins like riboflavin (B2), niacin (B3), folic acid (b9), and cobalamin (B12) play a crucial role in keeping you healthy and maintaining your overall wellbeing. If you want a healthier body, B vitamins are critical, as they are literally building blocks that help preserve your brain functionality, cell metabolism, and energy. For pregnant women, B vitamins in IV drips are especially important because they help your new baby's brain develop while in the womb. B vitamins have also been shown to prevent congenital disabilities. Plus, they help ease feelings of nausea, which is a big bonus for moms and dads alike.

When your body is vitamin B deficient, you're putting yourself at risk of many health problems, such as complications with pregnancy, nervous system disorders, amenia, and gastric cancers.

Vitamin-B

Like the other vitamins and nutrients on this page, magnesium plays an important part in your body's total health. As a cofactor or helper molecule, magnesium has a role in 600+ bodily functions, including protein formation, nerve function, gene function, muscle movement, and energy production. If you're having a stressful day or week, high-potency magnesium has been shown to have relaxation properties that help calm your nerves and muscles. Unfortunately, most Americans don't get enough magnesium in their diets.

When your body is magnesium deficient, you could be playing with fire. Magnesium deficiency has been linked to chronic health concerns like osteoporosis, diabetes, and even heart disease. If you're feeling unusually weak or suffering from irregular muscle cramps, a vitamin IV session from Juventee could be the solution you need.

Just about every health food and drink in the stores boasts high levels of antioxidants. That's great, but what are they? Antioxidants are substances shown to slow or prevent cell damage from free radicals. Free radicals are unstable molecules linked to inflammation, disease, and forms of cancer. According to the National Library of Medicine, antioxidants also act as hydrogen and electron donors, as well as enzyme inhibitors.

Most humans get some types of antioxidants naturally through eating and drinking. However, IV vitamin therapy is a much more effective way to fight back against free radicals with antioxidants. When your body lacks antioxidants, free radical production increases, which causes oxidative stress - a harmful situation linked to arthritis, cancers, strokes, and Parkinson's disease.

Antioxidants

Thankfully, Juventee's IV vitamin therapy in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ contains antioxidants that may scavenge and reduce the free radicals affecting your health.

Some additional vitamins and nutrients found in most IV vitamin therapies include:

  • Calcium
  • Amino Acids
  • Threonine
  • Arginine
  • Tryptophan

Through seven weeks of the season, nobody in the NJIC has been able to come close to competing with Rutherford.

There will now only be one more week to prove whether a team can do that. The Bulldogs continued their season-long dominance of the conference with a 35-7 win over Hasbrouck Heights in the semifinal round of the NJIC Championship bracket. Rutherford is the defending NJIC champion after defeating Park Ridge in the final a year ago.

Rutherford has now outscored its opponents by a combined score of 282-73. The Bulldogs have yet to have a competitive game past halftime.

What is usually a close rivalry between Rutherford and Hasbrouck Heights was anything but this time around. The Bulldogs were out for revenge following a 24-18 loss to Hasbrouck Heights to open the football season last year. It was a great birthday present for Rutherford head coach Steve Dunn.

“We kept in mind what happened a year and six weeks ago,” senior quarterback Van Weber said. “We kept that in mind and got revenge. Being across town from them, just getting revenge on them was something I wanted for a year straight. We’re familiar with a lot of the kids there, so it was a special game tonight and we got it done.”

“I knew my boys were going to come out and do what they did,” junior wide receiver/defensive end Ryan Ward said. “We still have a lot of good teams coming up. We just have to put this away and get to the next one. To get the NJIC would be great because we got it last year and to get it this year would be great too.”

Anthony DiLascio ran for 165 yards in that contest for Hasbrouck Heights last year and came into the game with 1,286 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns. The Rutherford defense was unfazed and held the Hasbrouck Heights star running back to only one yard rushing in the first half.

“Our defensive line played great and our linebackers had to get our checks,” Ward said. “I think we just came out and dominated.”

Meanwhile, the Rutherford offense was being its usual dominant self with its two-headed monster at running back, big-armed quarterback, tall and explosive wide receiver group and big offensive line. The offensive line group of Steve Pisciotta, Luciano Matteo, Arthur Costan, Gavin McGill and Luke Cerulli were opening holes the size of an ocean for Cole Goumas early on in the game.

“It’s unstoppable,” Ward said. “We got a crazy kid at quarterback, two running backs with over 500 yards, and receivers that can make plays. You really can’t do anything. Our line is bigger and better than ever.”

To open Rutherford’s second possession of the game, Goumas took a took a toss and absolutely flattened a Hasbrouck Heights defender on his way for a 34-yard run down to the three-yard line to eventually set up a Weber quarterback sneak touchdown.

Weber then went to work through the air on the next series with two completions totaling 27 yards to Zach Herninko before a three-yard play-action touchdown pass to Chris Gioia to give Rutherford a 14-0 lead with 44 seconds left in the first quarter. Weber threw his second touchdown pass of the game to Ward on a slant for 13 yards to put the Bulldogs ahead by a score of 21-0.

Gioia has been coming on in a big way the past couple of weeks and continued his strong play with an interception on defense before catching his second touchdown pass of the evening -- this one for four yards -- as the Bulldogs continued to roll.

“It’s awesome,” Ward said. “He’s amazing. He’s so athletic. We can put him anywhere and he’ll do anything for us. He plays quarterback too and is probably going to be our quarterback next year. He just does it all.”

For good measure, Gioia scored the final touchdown of the first half for Rutherford when he took a short slant and outraced the Hasbrouck Heights defenders to the end zone for a 59-yard score.

Rutherford will now turn its attention to the NJIC final where the Bulldogs will square off with Wood-Ridge, which defeated Waldwick by a score of 21-14 in the other semifinal. Playing important games in a playoff atmosphere can only be good preparation for Rutherford for the upcoming state tournament.

“I think seeing the competition we’re seeing now before states is big,” Weber said. “It gets us ready and prepares us. We have to defend this title and we have a target on our back, but we’re coming for it.”
